Caulfield Tips for Saturday the 23rd of September. Naturalism Stakes Day!
Rail will be out 9m and the track should favor horses racing on or around the pace.
The track should play firm and fast with the wind potentially causing a few issues in the afternoon if the forecast stays true.
Caulfield Tips 23rd September
Race 3 #4 Anaheim @ $7.00
Concede he is a run and a bit of distance short of his peak run but the spoil ($7) is too good to knock back in a soft field. His return run around Moonee Valley was very solid and at $7 he’s the gamble on an each-way basis as he will get back and go through the line well. His chances of winning probably come down to how far back he has to settle from barrier nine.
Race 5 #1 He Or She @ $10.00
His best rating number is probably beyond him but his run off a long break was decent and he has a genuine fast-track form tick that many of these horses in this race do not. He maps perfectly and I think he can run a bumper race at big odds as the fancied horses have enough question marks considering the market percentage they are taking up.
Race 6 #1 Keen Array @ $9.00
Keen Array loves Caulfield and the firm tracks and I’m happy to pot the favorite here at the price. He will get back and be ridden to go through the line. He’s the best horse in the race but the way the track should play he will have a task. Keen Array just needs to bounce fairly and hold a spot in the first six to be hard to beat. Playing on the 1 x 3 basis on a horse I’ve rated much shorter.
Race 8 #1 Prompt Response @ $8.50
When you find an average mares race where the main chances in the market are get-back, run-on horses on a firm Caulfield track with the rail out – what do you? You find the Waterhouse horse who’ll go to the front and make her own luck! Two trials for this in the elite company so don’t be turned off by the 2 x fourth in the form guide. If the first couple of leaders stick on well she will shorten and shorten plenty.
